RAYNET is a national,
voluntary organisation comprising groups of Radio Amateurs
who volunteer their time, knowledge and equipment to assist
local authorities, Police, Fire and some other services with
a back-up communications facility.
The Gwent RAYNET Group covers
the old County of Gwent which, following the Local
Government reorganisation of 1996, now comprises the local
authority areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire,
Newport and Torfaen.
